Milly’s Realm has shifted again. This is the first Christmas Eve in decades that I haven’t stuffed my own stocking! It feels a little weird.
Early in my career in government work I had a recurring dream for a few weeks. In the dream sequence I sat in my cubicle filling out paperwork. Then I passed the completed paperwork out of the top of the cubicle. All was good as the paper continued to fall on the desk from somewhere above like snowflakes. Milly is back on track! Our visitor did not stay long or raise the roof. Matthew decided to party his way up the coast. We are extremely grateful he conserved his strength on us. However, all of us in Milly’s Realm are keeping in our prayers the other towns and villages in the path of his pillaging storm.
Jo is my feisty senior citizen pup! She’s a head-strong and sweet Australian Cattle Dog. For those who know about cattle dogs she’s a Blue Heeler. Which means she’s black with white specs and a white cross-shaped blaze on the top of her head. She’s twelve now and we’ve had her since she was a year old. Needless to say she’s an institution in Milly’s Realm. Well we had some laughs this week over the care and feeding of my…um… shall I say…slightly spoiled pup.
My husband, sons, and I joke about a lot of things. This is one of those things; it is ‘age.’ It does not matter if we are young or old or anywhere in-between, we find humor in life. Another thing we do is create outlandish scenarios. At dinner…not all that long ago, I ask; “what will you do with me when I’m an ole’ grandma?” (I secretly hope)…
