Come Back

Milly’s Come Back Mango

How are things going? Sunday was the coldest day of 2022 in South Florida so far. Don’t laugh. It got to 36 degrees Fahrenheit, then climbed to a high of 59 degrees! Okay… laugh with me. I did cover my plants that night. We lost none except the bloom is off the mango! The great thing about trees is they usually come back in the spring, even in South Florida!

Who First?

Waking up in 2022 has me looking around to see the lay of the land. The amount of information is overwhelming to my earthly senses. But it has opened my eyes to new things. As I dig to confirm sources and verify information, I found a theme resonating beneath the layers of words. Family First! (Insert Country here) First! People First! Me First!, First, First, First! If I understand correctly, we want to know where to start and what needs to be first. While the people shout a mantra of sorts to focus the leaders, I wonder… Who truly goes first?

Suffering Christmas

This week I found encouragement in, of all places, a cross-reference. Part of an adventure journey is shutting off the noise and actively seeking. We may seek answers, reasons, or someone special. An adventure journey has a destination and choices. Choosing to investigate another path can actually help the journey. This week, my foray off the path brought me the strength to keep going.

A Longing Soul

Dance

I’m not very good with music. Technically, I am good with an instrument, but only when precision is required. I do not have an ear for music, nor the voice and not the feet. While I can sway or bop to the rhythm, my feet are clumsy when I dance. I’ve been out of step with the Macarena and taken out a row in the Electric Slide.

Scary Stuff

What scares you in this world? Lots of things scare me. I have spent much of my life with some fear or another looking around the next corner for the bogeyman. Most of these fears are unfounded and a few are not. It is the ‘what ifs’ that stir up fear. When we get past, ‘What if?’ we need to ask, “What are we afraid of? And what is the true danger?

My Seasons Your Seasons

Morning Luffa Blossom in Milly’s Summer Garden – All blossoms no fruit… Yet!

Gardening is teaching me planting, tending, harvesting, and more. This year I learned the hard way that every garden has its own seasons. Its own pattern. While there may be general seasons for my area north of the equator. There are variations in locations.

The Ride of My Life

Photo by Aaron Burden on Unsplash

Woosh! Whoa! Slow down. Then we creep along the track straight up in the air. Prepare… Creep… Prepare… creep… tension builds. The last day, we teeter at the top of the track with nothing but clear blue skies in every direction. Ah, Beautiful. It feels like we are floating on air. We can’t see the tracks. Only “blue skies ahead.”
