The 4th of July is a day of celebration in America. After a year of restrictions, families could finally pull together to celebrate. Something hangs in the air. Among us regular folks, the celebrations seemed muted after a year of losses. What is this heavy weight in the atmosphere?
Another week has gotten away from me. The chronic pain has ramped up along with the increasing stress levels. I have called a Family Meeting for tomorrow. Work, medical appointments, business appointments, Dad, errands swirl around me like a perfect storm. I actually started two blogs since Tuesday. I just couldn’t finalize them.
Today I feel like I broke through the wall of the storm into the eye. My pain lessened as I drove for home. My shoulders straightened. The muscles in my back began to ease. The ache and pressure in my head settled to a dull ache. The weekend has arrived. I get to work and write at home.
I love Friday evening. It is a time full of hope and promise of the gifts God has planned for me. Some of my weekends are restful. Some are rapid fire busy. Some are filled with energy and some are full of fatigue and pain. Most are somewhere in between. This one promises to be in between. I’m looking forward to a mixture of accomplishment and rest. My favorite kinda weekend, I want to experience it all!
Weekends don’t always work out the way I plan but, most weekends do. Isn’t that why we look forward to them starting on…well in my case Monday morning? {Wink}
My weekend started Friday afternoon. This weekend many will have planned a four-day extravaganza. I do get the 4th of July off. I’m one of those taking the weekend then working Monday to take Tuesday off this year. On Mondays I step back into the storm. Storms are unpredictable. I hope this one will let me stay in the eye for a couple of days.
If you have a long weekend, enjoy it to the max! If you are working this weekend and holiday, thank you for being there. I appreciate your service. If you’re like me off and on again, welcome to my club, I’m enjoying it!
