A Wonderful Kind of Busy

Homestead Sunrise

It has been over a month since I have posted anything. I do apologize. But I have an excuse, exhaustion! (I giggle.) Yes there is exhaustion. That part is true. But the real reason is a wonderful kind of busy! Most times busy is associated with stress or something not pleasant or enjoyable. And there are other times when we are busy preparing for something wonderful. We are filled with hope and God’s promise. It could be anything that holds promise; A new career, going to college, marriage; a child; the trip of a lifetime, or in my case right now it is a homestead. It is a Wonderful kind of busy when we prepare for God’s plan to be fulfilled.

Write Now!

My Desk after a Blogging Session. What a Mess! (Photo by Milly Moss)

National Novel Writing Month is back. November 1, 2021, I face the challenge of writing a novel in a month. Some people run marathons and others compete in games. This challenge for authors is our form of competition. But we compete with one’s self. It is a solitary marathon of words with the prize being finishing 50,000 words in a new novel in thirty days.

A Merry Christmas from Florida

Florida Snow on Christmas Eve 2020 (Photo by Milly)

Yes, the mountain girl went to the beach yesterday, Christmas Eve, and that is Florida ‘snow’ that you see on the water. A cold front moved through SoFlo* this morning. The high yesterday was eighty degrees with winds, cloudy skies and a chance of ‘snow.’ As I write this, the temperature outside is fifty-five degrees. We expect the low tonight to be forty-two degrees. I’d better cover the plants! BRR! {Guffaw!} This is as close to a White Christmas as we get. Can you see the whitecaps on the Atlantic?

Morning Guidance

This morning I woke with praise for the Almighty on my lips.  Yes, my head was pounding and my thoughts blurred by sleep.  During the early morning hours, I woke a few times before I got up.  Each time I thanked God for the day, his graces, or for being my God before fading back to sleep.

Yesterday morning, I woke in a good mood.  My post was ready to go.  I looked forward to a wonderful day.  It just needed the audio clip and a few tweaks.  I signed onto my work desktop and opened my email.  The email’s subject line put me on notice.  Trouble was brewing.  Uh oh… Do I open it or ignore it? Finding Peace

During the storm thinking muddles and I battle fear and pain.  Once the storm passes, peace settles in the atmosphere.  The sky clears to a bright blue.  I survey the debris.  The actions needed fall into place.  God provides the tools I need and I get back to work. Limitations

This week I found my writing meandering.  Then the words stopped.  I spent this week dreading each day ahead of me imagining what would happen tomorrow.  What are they going to say?  What if I said this?  I could not stop my mind from playing out scenarios. Continue reading “Limitations”

Slipping into the New Year

Early Morning Snowfall on the New River
(Video by Milly Moss – Jan 7, 2020)

I thought I would step easily into 2020.  No such luck.  Here in Milly’s Realm, I’m feeling unsure of my footing.  The journey’s path is as slippery as the snow turned to ice on the driveway yesterday morning.
